the hauta story
My name is Conner Allen. As a 14-year-old, I loved the outdoors despite a lack of fishing and hunting experience and knowledge. Every day, my best friend, Walt and I would hike down to the creek to figure out how to fish, camp, and adventure. While most of our friends were playing video games, we were exploring and learning outdoor skills. We taught ourselves how to fly fish, hunt, and camp online from youtube. My love for the outdoors continued to grow and my education with it.

IN 2015 WE LAUNCHED OUR FIRST FLY FISHING CAMP TO ENCOURAGE THE NEXT GENERATION TO GO CREATE THE SAME ADVENTURES. IN 2019 I FOUNDED HAUTA WITH A MISSION TO SIMPLIFY THE OUTDOORS AND MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE TO ANYONE. NOW, 8 YEARS AFTER THE FIRST AUSTIN CAMP, HAUTA OUTDOORS SEEKS TO GET THE NEXT GENERATION OUTDOORS THROUGH CAMPS, ONLINE CURRICULUM, AND EXPERIENCES.
Hauta Outdoors seeks to reclaim a love for the outdoors in the next generation. We provide education and inspirational experiences to equip anyone who desires to have the skills to tackle the outdoors.
Through our online platform, HAUTA’s goal is to create a community of outdoorsmen that learn together. Through camps and in-person instruction we offer hands-on training to spur the outdoorsman in all of you.
